This is my first time reading this novel and I’ve had this series on my TBR for way too long! I’m excited to read this together with you all, for the first time! It promises to be a fun filled, scifi romp through the cosmos aboard the Wayfarer, out titular ship who’s adventures we will be following in this book. This book is the May Pick for Scifi, voted by you lovely people! It covers the scifi and LGBTQ author/story squares in this year's Bookclub Bingo!
The entire series won the 2019 Hugo Award for Best Series and this novel in particular was the winner of the 2017 Prix Julia Verlanger! The award is run by the Fondation de France, and is awarded to “a science fiction work of adventure, fantasy or fantastique.” The award was created by Jean-Pierre Verlanger in memory of his wife, who wrote under the pseudonym Gilles Thomas.
